These remarks likely accelerated the NFL’s decision to part ways with Papa John’s. On February 28, 2018, the NFL announced a new partnership with Pizza Hut. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell praised the new alliance, stating, “With a focus on family, friends, and fun, Pizza Hut has the creativity we are looking for in a partner.”
